Yup like SHNEK said take one source and start exploring it. Try to get basic knowledge of project structure. Simply try add dialogue to npc. you will learn where you handle NPC clicking, dialogue senders, writing dialogues. giving some output by Itemassistan or what ever you like.

For developing source? Kronos is good, but it needs some coding experience to get project rolling.

So what kind of errors you get? Is it graddle or maven project?.

That's a good looking editor, gonna play with it and learning some new shit.
