  4. Java Development Kit may be what you are missing in the start of your private server. This may be downloaded from oracle after creating an account. The kit will allow cooperation of the runescape private server files you may have downloaded already. The kit compiles files and helps run the game.

    Java is a tool you may need to get started with your runescape private server found with a google search of "java download" from java.com. Java will run your files to load the client.

    You may use Eclipse to have a better understanding of what you are working on within your private server. Creating a project and importing client and source will give you the workspace and help you may find useful. Eclipse may suggest errors worth fixing within your files and give you some guidance.

    You may use notepad++ to quickly view files and edit them as they show spacing and coloring to learn java a little more.
