 I saw a couple of introduction threads that are pointless and I don't know if we want people like that in here

as your introduction.  Just say hello or something like that, doesn't have to be super elaborate but at least make a tiny effort.

if new users don't have the effort to make a simple post, they shouldn't be able to leech off the downloads.

If you see such a post, ignore it and don't post. A forum staff will come along and lock it. 

Not everyone likes to intoduce themself when forced to and we have to respect that.
