A long-forgotten project, shrouded in mystery and questionable design choices, Pink Scape was destined to be a momentous failure. But, as the Exilius team scratched their heads and thought, "What could we do with this monstrosity?" one member had a brilliant idea: Release it as a prank. Yes, Pink Scape, the server that was doomed from the start, is about to be unleashed upon the unsuspecting masses. It's an April Fool’s joke, a cruel trick, a game that, if you’re lucky, you’ll wish you’d never heard of. Strap in, because here’s the hilariously ridiculous tale of Pink Scape—just in time for it to ruin all of your expectations. The Outrageous Concept of Pink Scape An Idea So Dumb, It’s Brilliant? The servers would crash under the weight of their own absurdity, the questlines were more nonsensical than a fever dream, and the whole game was held together by the fragile thread of “let’s see how long we can make this ridiculousness last.” Enter Fairy Realms: The ‘New’ Vision But what do you do when you’ve poured countless hours into a project that everyone can already tell is going to be a total disaster? Simple. You scrap it, make it look like it was all part of a grand plan, and then repackage it as something far less embarrassing. And thus, Fairy Realms was born—essentially a polished version of the disaster that Pink Scape had become. It’s everything that Vanguard had and more, but with none of the flaming wreckage that was Pink Scape. Fairy Realms took the core concept of a whimsical, magical world and turned it into something that actually worked (sort of). The only thing Fairy Realms shared with Pink Scape was a sense of mockery—and even then, it wasn’t intentional. Fairy Realms ended up being the polished game that was actually playable. Pink Scape, on the other hand, will always remain a prank—an embarrassing footnote in the Exilius team’s otherwise impressive development history. Conclusion: A Joke That’s About to Break the Internet Pink Scape, the world that never should have been, is finally seeing the light of day. Or should we say, nightmares of day? Hi all! I am still pretty new to this editor, however I'd like to share my experience so far with other users that might not know how to texture models yet. Please note this tutorial is only for basic texturing of models. If any info below is wrong or missing please let me know and I'll add it. How do I run the .jar? For me the .jar wouldn't run by double clicking it. I had to use cmd to run it. I created a simple Run.bat file containing the following line: java -jar "model_editor_1.4.1.jar" Opening your cache Go to File > Open cache... Using the explorer window that just popped up, locate your cache folder and open it. Click the model ID you'd like to edit to open it in the model viewer. I suggest starting with a simple model, like a casket which I will be using in this tutorial. Texturing the model To texture the model you have to create a texture layer first. To do so click "Texture layers" on the right and then click "Add layer". Leave everything default in the popup window as it is good enough to try out texturing a model. Click "Ok". Now select the layer in the dropdown menu "Choose a texture layer...". On the right tabs, click "Face painting", select the texture layer you just added. Pick a texture by clicking on the large box behind it and then check the box in front of it. You can toggle the lines/faces/textures on your model on or off using the following buttons on the top left of the model viewer. I like having the lines visible when texturing my model. Hover over the face you'd like to texture. It should light up. Now double click to apply the selected texture to this face. Do this for all faces you'd like to have texture applied to. Once finished go back to the tab "Texture layers". Now we are going to edit the values here to stretch the texture as well as change it's direction/rotation. Mess around with the 3 index fields and see what looks best on your model. As you can see these are the settings I have used for my model. Replacing textures Let's say you have textured your model, but you would like to change the texture afterwards. This is also possible. To do so go to "Edit > Replace faces". On the left side: select the texture you want to replace, as well as the texture layer your texture is on. It should tell you how many faces it selected in total. On the right side: select the texture you want to replace the original texture with, as well as the layer that the layer you'd like your new texture to be on. Then click "Replace faces". In order to make it look good you might have to mess around with the indexes in the "Texture layers" tab again. Saving your model There are 2 options to save your model. You can choose to either save them directly to the cache you selected earlier, or you can save the model somewhere locally to send it to someone else or pack it later. By choosing the last option the model will not be saved in your cache. To save your model directly into your cache: "File > Save model". To save your model locally: "File > Export as > New format". Suic's Model Editor Here is the latest version of Suic's Model Editor. Media: The editor is not complete, so lots of the features don't work. Here is what I have found so far: Hotkeys (Not all working) - M - Texture Mapping V - Animation Viewer W - Weighting CTRL Z - Undo CTRL Y - Redo I have edited the tool to save models to a subdirectory in the same folder that the editor is in, and I have provided a .bat file to run it with the correct java version in the download. When you edit a model and click File, save, it will save it in the "savedmodels" folder in the same folder that the jar file is in. I have found only 2 caches the editor is compatible with, Luminite and Utopia. What I recommend is packing your models in one of these caches, editing your model then saving it and using the .dat produced. Welcome to my beginners guide for RSPSi! I did not make any of the content I am describing here, I am simply trying to make getting started on RSPSi easier to understand for new members to the community. I started digging into the RSPS scene about a month ago and have had the opportunity to look into many of the tools available to people within the community. One of these amazing tools is a Map Editor that is free to use called, RSPSi. The purpose behind this guide will be to help individuals who are interested in starting to map for RSPS's, but may be having issues getting the tool to launch and once the tool is launched they may struggle learning the UI. Today, I hope to make it as simple of a process as possible for you to start creating new maps! For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be referring to the Zenyte Source for any examples. RSPSi is able to work with multiple clients, for example; Zenyte, Necrotic, etc. Find out the plugin that will work for your source, for Zenyte, we will be using OSRSPlugin. Move the plugin you will be using from inactive to active, only one should be active at a time. Make sure that you have JRE 1.8 installed in /Program Files/Java/JRE_1.8 (https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) Create a run.bat file to run editor.jar. "C:\Program Files\Java\jre-1.8\bin\java.exe" -jar editor.jar Run the file! How to start working on a project? Once you've got RSPSi to run, we will need to load a cache and XETA keys, you can find some here: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches For Zenyte (Rev 179), I used an OSRS Cache - Build 187 for my own home area (https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/runescape/120) Once you have successfully completed this, you will see white text that says "Please select a map to load..." So as it seems it's been leaked and my attempts to have the servers removed from Top Lists etc isn't proving successful, so I have decided it's best to just release it. I cannot allow individuals to keep selling this, it's not right. This release is slightly older than the one that's been leaked. This is by no means the best release you will find, but it was built by just myself since I was young as a way to learn on the original Matrix base, it developed into a great server which had a great community, so please enjoy it. I'm releasing my project of the last 2 months, Harmony. Harmony has consumed the majority of my days in the past few months, and I have burned myself out from working on it. I never planned on running a server, I just wanted to get back into RSPS as a hobby as I am having medical issues and unable to work currently. Well...
