Hello everyone,

Today’s update took longer than usual due to some content being very time consuming, but we’ve made sure to pack a ton of things into it!  The update brings some much needed PvP improvements and bug fixes, as well as some important performance/speed improvements as well as a ton of QOL features such as boss killtime announcements to show when records are broken, arrows above Theatre of Blood chests, and many more QOL/bug fixes.

Lastly, a brand new mini-game is now live! Do you have what it takes to be the Last Man Standing?

  • Performance improvements for EU players:
    • We’ve added a few new connection servers for European players, which should improve latency issues and make the game feel a bit smoother. The previous connection server for EU players was overloaded and not optimal for the smoothest gameplay.
    • Additionally, a bug was sometimes selecting an entirely inconvenient server  (NA based) for EU players, causing increased latency. All EU players should see slight improvements in ping/lowered latency, which will hopefully help to improve delays felt in item switching, prayer toggling, in PvP situations and in general gameplay. Australia/Asia players may also see a slight improvement, though we do plan to improve connection speeds for Australian players even further in the near future.
      • PLEASE NOTE: To fully take advantage of this, you will need to have the absolute latest client. If you login and you get a red message that says “Your client is outdated!”, you’re still using the same old (and probably slower) connection server.

  • Miscellaneous:
    • Tournament cup updated with October’s EIM tournament.
    • Veterans who are Ironmen or Classics will now also have their respective icon shown next to their yells / clan chat messages, etc.
    • The “Hide all donator icons” button was missing from the settings tab, this has been re-added.
    • The Birthday NPC / cake at home have been removed.
    • Pet insurance fixes:
      • Pet insurance will now work for pets which you have lost by accidentally doing ::empty.
      • Fixed a bug which caused the Mini Vanguard to insure as an Olmlet even though you did not have the Olmlet pet (or metamorphic dust to turn Vanguard into one).
        • NOTE: If you previously had this bug and your Pet insurance only shows Olmlet instead of Mini Vanguard (and you don’t own an Olmlet/Dust) then you may need to re-insure your pet!

    • Grim reaper hood now hides your hair/face.
    • Latest PvM cup winners added to the Tournament cup list.
  • HCIM Death update:
    • If an HCIM dies to a player or NPC, the news announcement will now also say which player or NPC they died to.
  • Pre-update warning:
    • We will now issue a notice approximately 20 minutes before an update, which will disable Raids, Last Man Standing and the Inferno so that players do not get halfway through a raid and then are forced to log off.
      • If you are already in a Raid or any other one of these mini-games, you will be able to finish them within those 20 minutes.

  • Slayer cancel QOL:
    • You can now right-click the Slayer Master and select “Cancel-task” to quickly cancel your task without opening the interface at all. You will still be presented with a confirmation box to make sure you’d like to cancel your task, as well as the point cost (if applicable).
  • Serpentine visage dismantling:
    • You can now dismantle the Serpentine visage for 20,000 Zulrah scales. A warning will be shown before confirming.
  • Alorian donator capes update:
    • The teleport option on this cape will now ask you whether you’d like to teleport to the old Donator zone or the new one.
  • Theatre of Blood changes:
    • Chest arrow QOL + Animation/open chest:
      • An arrow will now be shown above the chest that belongs to you in the reward area. This will make looting easier and not force you to click on every chest, and the player(s) with a purple chest will know immediately that it is theirs.
      • Additionally, players will now play an animation upon “opening” the chest, and the chest will physically open rather than remaining static. This lets all the participants in the room know that their teammates have opened their chests and are ready to move on.
    • Bug fixes:
      • Scythe vitur stand animation fixed:
        • The way that you hold the Scythe of vitur was previously too ‘angular’, and is now held more upright as it is in OSRS.
      • Sotetseg’s special attack (red ball with shared damage) was able to be dodged sometimes, this can no longer be done.

  • Combat fixes/changes:
    • Venom has been added! (See below)
    • Prayer drain had a bug which limited how many points you’d lose per tick. This has been matched to OSRS (tested).
      • Prayer flicking is also more accurate to how it is on OSRS.
    • Dragon claw special attack accuracy has been slightly boosted (~30%)
    • Dragon spear special attack fix:
      • Using this special attack on players that were frozen previously did not ‘push’ them as it is supposed to. This has been fixed.
    • Red bar fix:
      • Previously, any player with 3/99 HP or lower would be completely red barred (no green on their HP bar) making it difficult to know if you KO’d them. This has been fixed, and will reflect their health more accurately, showing a tiny bit of green even at 1/99 HP.
        • This change will apply to both PvP and PvM, and will help to more accurately reflect the HP an enemy has remaining in all situations.
        • We’ve also applied this fix to the enemy info box in the top left corner, so that HP bar will also no longer red-bar.
          • Lastly, for this overlay, if you are fighting a player with more than 99 HP (juggernaut or using saradomin brew) the HP bar will not spill out of the black box and be longer than usual.

    • Halberd attack speed (including Dragon and Crystal) was too fast, and has been slightly slowed down to match OSRS.
    • Magic fixes:
      • Delay fix:
        • Some Magic spells were slightly delayed and not damaging other players quickly enough. We’ve removed this delay and attempted to match everything perfectly to OSRS. The damage (hitsplat) will show up at the same time as before, but the GFX / block animation / enemy retaliation will all happen sooner than before.
          • Side by side example:
This is the hidden content, please

      • Specific fixes:
        • Bind/Snare/Entrangle/Freeze spell changes:
          • These spells will now freeze 1 tick sooner (during casting) rather than waiting until the damage appears.
        • Multi-spell fixes
          • For multi-spells (eg. Barrage), the multi effects (AoE) will now be calculated earlier so that the players that were next to the target at the time of cast will be affected, but not the players that run in afterwards.
        • Teleblock effect will now apply 1 tick (0.6s) earlier, giving targets less time to teleport away during the spell cast.

    • Range/Melee changes:
      • The defend animation will now show up earlier for melee/ranged attacks.
    • Dark bow fix:
      • The dark bow was firing 1 tick too quickly. This has been fixed, bringing the attack speed to 5.4 seconds, with the rapid mode bringing it down to 4.8 seconds.
      • Additionally, the Dark bow’s special attack has been slightly tweaked. Previously, it guaranteed 8 damage on each hit (or 4 if the player was using Protect from Range). This is still applicable for Dragon arrows, but if you are using any other type of arrow, the damage is 5/3 rather than 8/4.

  • Wilderness changes:
    • Saradomin brews dropped in the wilderness will now be shown after 2x the regular amount of time it takes to show items (2 minutes rather than 1), rather than 10x previously (10 mins).
    • Multi-zone lines fixed for a few areas (matched to OSRS):
      • All of the affected areas are in level 39-46 wilderness:
        • Areas that are now Multi:
          • North of Black chinchompas
          • An area north-east of the lava maze
        • Areas that are now Singles:
          • North of the lava maze, around the Rune ore mining area
          • On the north side of the lava maze, but still within the maze, an area that was previously multi was incorrect.

    • Revenant cave multi-zones fix:
      • The entrances to the revenant caves (both north and south) have a few steps (~5 steps) that are non-multi within the cave, this has been fixed to match OSRS.
    • A gate in level 42 wilderness (Near the ladder to go down to KBD) was occasionally bugged and has been fixed. (one side would open, and the other side would stay closed, example:
This is the hidden content, please
      )
      • This may inadvertently have fixed other bugged gates in the game, though this is the only one that was reported bugged at the moment.
    • NPC aggressive distance (how close an NPC must be to you to be able to ‘notice’ and attack you) in the wilderness has been reduced, meaning you can walk a bit closer to NPCs without being targeted.
      • Most NPC’s aggression distances were reduced by only 1 step, though some monsters, like bats, have been reduced by 2 steps.
    • Resource area fixes:
      • On logout, players will be placed outside the resource area.
      • If attempting to go through the resource area gate while frozen, you would previously get bugged for a long time. This has been fixed, allowing to to enter while frozen (as long as you are right next to the gate).

  • Royal seed pod added to PK Point Exchange:
    • This pod will allow you to 1-click teleport to the Grand tree up to level 30 Wilderness. It can be used an unlimited number of times.
      • Cost: 2,000 PK points.
      • If lost upon death, it will be sent to the item reclaim shop and can be retrieved for 100,000 coins.

  • Dragon hunter crossbow recolour:
    • The base colours of the Dragon hunter crossbow have been updated to resemble the Great Olm, making it distinguishable from the Dragon crossbow.
  • Agility QOL:
    • You can now perform alchemy (and other spells, such as plank make) while running to your next Agility obstacle without cancelling your pending agility action.
  • Boss Killtime Record Announcements:
    • Players who beat the previously set Killtime records for Bosses and certain Minigames will now be announced on the yell channel!
      • This includes time records for:
        • All bosses
        • Barrow
        • Raids 1 & 2
        • The Inferno
        • Fight Caves

  • Venom:
    • Venom is now part of the Alora combat system! This is a very important change to note for both PvM and PvP.
      • Venom is a stronger variant of poison, which, rather than decreasing in strength over time, increases in strength. It always starts at 6 damage, and increases by 2 damage every 18 seconds up to a max of 20 damage. It will not go away until it is cured, or until you or your enemy is dead.
        • Curing:
          • Drinking any dose of Anti-poison potion will convert the venom to poison. Then, drinking another sip will fully cure the poison.
          • New potions, such as the Anti-venom potions can cure venom in one sip and provide some immunity (up to 3 minutes for Anti-venom+)
        • Immunity:
          • Wearing a Serpentine helmet will provide permanent immunity to Venom (and poison).

      • Weapons that can inflict venom to players and monsters at a 25% chance:
        • Weapons:
          • Trident of the Swamp
          • Toxic staff of the dead
          • Toxic blowpipe
        • Note:
          • These weapons have a 100% chance to inflict venom on an NPC if also wearing the Serpentine helmet.

      • Monsters that are immune to venom only (but can be inflicted with poison):
        • Chaos Elemental, Dagannoth Prime, Dagannoth Rex, Dagannoth Supreme, Demonic gorilla, Giant Mole, Kalphite Queen, Kraken, Obor, TzTok-Jad, Vet'ion
        • NOTE: All the monsters that are immune to poison (see below) cannot be envenomed either. The difference is that the list above can still be poisoned.
      • Monsters that can inflict venom on you:
        • Zulrah and its Snakelings
        • Vorkath

  • Poison changes:
    • Poison will now hit players more rapidly, once every 18 seconds as it is in OSRS (decrementing by 1 damage every 4 hits).
      • Previously, poison would only hit you once every minute (approximately)
    • Many NPCs now immune to poison (matched to OSRS):
      • By design, the following NPCs are also immune to Venom:
        • Abyssal Sire, Brutal dragon, Cerberus, Commander Zilyana, Corporeal Beast, General Graardor, Glough, Juvinate, K’ril Tsutsaroth, Keef, Kob, Kree'arra, Kruk, Mithril dragon, Lizardman, Lizardman brute, Lizardman shaman, Great Olm, Scion, Snakeling, Spawn, Smoke devil, Thermonuclear smoke devil, Callisto, Venenatis, Vorkath, Zulrah

  • New Potions and Resources (Related to Venom):
    • Coconut milk:
      • Use a Hammer on a Coconut to get two Coconut halves, then use the pieces on Vials of water to create Coconut milk.
    • Antidote++
      • Creation:
        • Mix an Irit into a vial of coconut milk at 79 Herblore for 177.5 XP.
          • On OSRS, Magic roots are also required to create this potion. Considering Venom is being added to the game quite late, we’re removing the requirement to mix Magic roots into the potion to speed up the amount of Antidote++ potions (and other potions below) being brought into the game.

      • Effect:
        • Cures poison and provides second longest immunity, at 12 minutes. You must drink two sips to cure venom, the second sip will cure poison. This potion is identical to the Superantipoison (which is already in-game) but provides 2x the poison immunity, and is used to create Anti-venom potions (below).

    • Anti-venom:
      • Creation:
        • Mix Zulrah scales and Antidote++ at 87 Herblore for 30 XP per dose. (for 4 dose, 120 XP total)
          • Five scales will create one dose, so 20 scales will be needed to create a four-dose Anti-venom.

      • Effect:
        • Cures venom and poison in one sip. 12 minutes immunity to poison, and one minute immunity to venom.

    • Anti-venom+:
      • Creation:
        • Torstol + Anti-venom at 94 Herblore for 125 XP.
      • Effect:
        • Cures venom and poison in one sip. 15 minute immunity to poison, and 3 minute immunity to venom.
      • Note:
        • Takes 4 ticks to create one potion, unlike other potions which take two ticks.

  • Sky color on OpenGL:
    • The default sky colour on HD mode has been changed to look less bright and blue, and more realistic.

We hope you enjoy this update :) We've taken extra time to test out LMS and the other content in this update, but there's still a chance that there may be a few bugs. If you find any, be sure to let us know by creating a topic in the Bug Report section!

Hello everyone,

Today’s update brings the first part of our Holiday updates, including a 30% bonus token sale, the elusive Santa suit being available in the store, and, of course, the arrival of snow on Alora! Keep an eye out for a Christmas giveaway with IRL prizes to be won, as well as an in-game Christmas event.

Aside from the festivities, this update brings the content that you voted for in the recent polls, the Classic mode changes and the clean slate for 3rd age equipment. This should bring value to the 3rd age economy, as those items will be much more rare from here on out. We’ve reimbursed the current holders of 3rd age equipment by giving them caskets to open based on the rarity of their equipment.

Lastly, we’ve implemented some changes to Last Man Standing to hopefully keep it active and worth playing. Firstly, every 3 games, a free (casual) match will be announced. Additionally, a point system has been added, with a reward shop which you can access by speaking to Lisa. Lastly, the Leaderboard next to the LMS lobby is now functional. Aside from this, we’ve also included a few bug fixes and QOL updates!

  • Store sale:
    • For a limited time, all store purchases will receive 30% bonus tokens! Make sure to take advantage of this sale from today all the way through to December 27th, 2018.
    • The Santa outfit has been added to the shop for a limited time. This outfit, which is now tradable, can be purchased for 2,500 tokens.
  • Classic mode changes:
    • Due to popular request, we’re making some changes to the Classic game mode to hopefully revitalize it and to make it appeal to more players. As many of you know, the release of Elite Ironman lessened the Classic population, with many people preferring to play with a single partner rather than to be part of the Classic economy.
      • How are we changing the Classic game mode?
        • We’re opening the economy of Classic mode, and making it so that you can trade with normal players, use the normal Trading post, use the Donation store, etc. The current Classic economy is not large enough to sustain itself, and with these changes, we’re hoping that this becomes a game mode very similar to the Normal game mode, but with the same low XP rates that many of you prefer to play on. There isn’t currently a low XP rate “normal” game mode, so we’re hoping that Classic can fill this role, and that we can breathe a new life into the game mode.
      • List of all changes:
        • Classic can now trade with normal players, use the Normal trading post, and use the normal donation store. They can also now PK other players and pick up their loot.
          • Any items on the Classic trading post have now been merged to the normal trading post.
        • Classics will now receive the same amount of GP from NPC drops, money caskets, thieving, etc. as normal players.
        • Classics now have a new sword that they can wear to show off their status, the Classic sword (Prop sword on OSRS). This sword is solely cosmetic.
        • Classics can now use normal shops.
        • Well of goodwill contributions are no longer doubled for Classics.
    • Classic sword added:
      • This cosmetic sword is an item that only Classic mode players may possess, and signifies their rank without them having to say a word.
        • You can collect this sword for free from Paul at home.
          • New Classic players will receive this sword after their starter tutorial.
  • Clue scroll/Impling jar changes:
    • Clue scrolls are now slightly less common across the board.
    • Clue bottles from fishing are now slightly less common.
    • Clue scrolls from Bird’s nests are now slightly less common.
    • Your clue scroll completion counter now goes up as soon as you receive a casket, not as soon as you open it. This is due to the fact that many caskets were just added into the game (see below), and we don’t want those to affect clue completion counts.
    • Clue scroll caskets will now announce when a player receives a Clue hunter piece or a 3rd age item.
    • Impling jars will now announce when somebody obtains a 3rd age item.
  • 3rd Age changes:
    • 3rd age is now extremely rare from Clue scrolls and Lucky implying jars.
    • 3rd age armour has been removed from the game. Anyone who previously had any gear will receive a clue scroll casket depending on the type of 3rd age piece. As 3rd age is much more rare now, it will be difficult to receive another piece, but it gives current holders a chance.
      • The only exceptions are the 3rd age hatchet and pickaxe, which are currently custom items.
        • The following lists show which items give which types of caskets:
          • Easy casket items:
            • 3rd age range coif
            • 3rd age range vambraces
            • 3rd age mage hat
            • 3rd age full helmet
            • 3rd age amulet
          • Medium casket items:
            • 3rd age range top
            • 3rd age range legs
            • 3rd age kite shield
          • Hard casket items:
            • 3rd age robe top
            • 3rd age robe bottoms
            • 3rd age plate body
            • 3rd age platelegs
          • Elite casket items:
            • 3rd age cloak
            • 3rd age longsword
            • 3rd age bow
            • 3rd age wand
  • Snow:
    • Snow has covered Alora! You can disable the snow by typing ::snow.
  • Combat changes:
    • Bolt special attacks now have a 10% higher chance of activating if you have completed all achievements.
      • This is typically a perk that is obtained with the Kandarin diary on OSRS, though this not available on Alora so we have swapped it for achievement completion.
      • A tip message has been added in-game to notify players of this perk.
  • Venom/poison changes:
    • Both are no longer ‘instant’, and after receiving the “You have been poisoned!” message, the damage will appear after a few seconds rather than immediately.
    • The chance of envenoming a player or NPC has been corrected:
      • The Toxic staff of the dead and Trident of the swamp can no longer apply Venom with melee attacks, only through Magic.
      • In PvM. — chance to inflict venom:
        • Wearing a Serpentine helmet:
          • Venomous weapon = 100% chance
          • Poisonous weapon = 50% chance
          • Regular weapon = 16.7% chance
        • Not wearing a Serpentine helmet:
          • Venomous weapon = 25% chance
      • In PvP — chance to inflict venom:
        • Venomous weapon = 25% chance.
      • Death bug:
        • When dying to venom, there was a chance your items on the ground would not last as long. This has been fixed.
  • Price changes:
    • Many items’ exchange prices have been fixed, they will now represent the price more accurately. This is calculated by data collected over the past few months from the Trading Post history.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • The ‘Craft 500 Wrath runes’ daily task actually only required 300. This has been fixed.
    • Baby implings will now give Pure essence rather than regular essence.
    • The Clown costume has been fixed and no longer says ’Null’.
    • When attempting to click the “Show XP drops” button, the bugged “Look North” button would overlap it. This will no longer happen, and both button boundaries have been fixed.
    • February 2018 PvM Cup winners added to the Cup in Edgevile.
      • (King purple, Not a Nerd, Syms, Hot Pies, F ?
    • Untradable reclaim item fixes (will now appear in Lost items manager’s items):
      • Crystal shield - 400k
      • Crystal bow - 400k
      • Infernal axe - 500k
    • Items that were untradable, but are now tradable as intended:
      • Guthan’s helm 0
    • Santa outfit is now tradable.
    • The Chaos Altars in level 12 and level 38 Wilderness will no longer allow you to switch your spell book, and will only recharge your prayer instead.
  • Killtime record fixes:
    • Killtime records were bugged when a player would attack a target with a multi-combat spell (barrage) or attack (eg. Chinchompa ranging) and the surrounding NPCs that are hit would not ‘register’ a start time, leading them to have super short kill times.
      • This should no longer occur, and we’ve had to reset all affected killtimes. This means that a few monster kill times have been wiped, but this does not affect any mini-games such as the Inferno or raids.
  • Last Man Standing changes:
    • Leaderboard:
      • A leaderboard has been added near the Last Man Standing lobby. This will list the players with the most LMS wins, as well as the number of games they’ve played and their win ratio.
        • This data is only collected as of this update, so the highscores are clean.
    • Point system:
        • Last Man Standing points have been added! This will hopefully keep the game alive and give players incentive to play.
        • You’ll get points based on your performance in the mini-game (even if it’s a free casual match!):
          • 10 points per kill
          • A # of points based on your final placement/position, and the number of players that were in the match:
            • (startingPlayerCount - placement) * 2
              • For example, if 20 players arrived on the island, and you ended in 2nd place:
                • (20 - 2) * 2 = 36 points
        • You can now trade Lisa to see the reward shop, which contains the following items:
          • Last man’s cloak - 5,000 points
            • This item is a unique cape that can only be obtained from Last Man Standing.
          • Imbuement scroll - 1,500 points
          • Royal seed pod - 1,000 points
          • Antidote++ (3) - 10 points
          • Antifire potion (3) - 6 points
        • Note:
          • This shop and reward system is still being tested and subject to change. If you have any suggestions, please let us know!
    • Other Additions:
      • Free game every 3 games:
        • Every 3 paid games, one free casual match will be held (and announced). You can still receive points and improve your ranking in this casual match.
      • ::checklms command has been added. This command allows you to list how many players are still alive on the island, and their names.
      • Winner announcement:
        • The winner of every game will be announced to the world, as well as the amount that they have won (if applicable).
      • Survivors in lobby:
        • Your waiting interface in the lobby will now tell you how many survivors are remaining in the current game.
      • Item on shrine:
        • You can now use your items on the Vending shrines to sell them quickly. If you only have 1 of that item, it will instantly sell. If you have multiple items, a dialogue in your chatbox will pop up to ask you how many you’d like to sell.
      • Bug fixes:
        • Players getting the error message ‘You cannot join with a pet’ while not having any pet at all has been fixed.
        • Resting in the fog will no longer stall/cancel damage.

Hello everyone,

Christmas is almost here! And on Alora, if you’re not already in the Christmas spirit, you definitely will be with this update. If you were here last year, you’ll remember the Alora Christmas giveaway, and you’ll be happy to hear that it’s back again this year! You’ll be able to purchase tickets for the giveaway for a chance to win 1 of 10 IRL prizes. Additionally, Santa’s in need of some help to deliver presents this Christmas and has some enticing rewards if you’re willing to help him.

  • Christmas giveaway:
    • As our way of getting into the Holiday spirit, and to show our gratitude to all of your continued support over the past 2 years, we’ve decided to host another giveaway with IRL prizes this holiday season!
      • You can enter in-game by purchasing tickets from Haris at home (leaning on Well of Goodwill).
        • Tickets cost 25m GP each, and each player (or household if multiple people play from your house) can only have 25 tickets at most. This is very important, if your name is drawn and we find that you’ve purchased more than 25 tickets on multiple accounts you will be disqualified.
        • The drawing will be on January 1st, 2019 at 09:00 EST.
        • Prizes are unlocked as everyone collectively hits milestones.
      • Prizes:
        • Guaranteed prizes: 7 different Alora hoodies will be given out!
        • 5b milestone: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset
        • 10b milestone: GTRacing Gaming Chair
        • 30b milestone: Nintendo Switch
    • FAQ:
      • How many people will win?
        • Assuming the full 30b gets donated, there are 10 prizes for 10 players. 3 top prizes listed above, and then the 7 hoodies.
      • Can the same person win multiple items?
        • To make it fair for everyone, if the drawing lands on the same person twice, there will be a re-roll. To make this fair, the top 3 prizes will be drawn first, and then the hoodies drawn afterwards.
      • Can anyone enter?
        • Yes, anyone can enter, including staff.
      • If it reaches 30b for the Nintendo Switch, can the other prizes still be won?
        • Yes, if the 30b is reached, all 3 prizes are rewarded, as well as the 7 sweaters. If only 10b is reached, the first two prizes and the sweaters will be rewarded.
      • What if I win but do not want the prize?
        • You can also take the cash equivalent of the prize(via PayPal), or 1.5x the equivalent in Alora tokens.
      • I have a brother/sister who also plays, can we each enter 25 times?
        • Unfortunately, there is a cap on the number of tickets and it is set at 25 per household. This is to ensure everyone gets a fair chance and that nobody is cheating. We will be looking into the winners to make sure that they fairly purchased their tickets.
      • How will the winner be picked?
        • A random number will be picked, which will correlate to an entry on a list of names. Your name will appear on the list as many times as you’ve purchased tickets, meaning the more tickets you purchase the more likely it is to land on your name.
  • Christmas updates:
    • With Christmas approaching, we’ve set up a nice big Christmas tree at home!
      • Additionally, we’ve added falling snow around Edgeville.
    • Christmas event:
      • A heavy snowfall has hit this year, and Santa is in need of some help delivering gifts! Speak to Santa north-east of Edgeville by the Christmas tree to find out exactly what he needs from you.
        • After aiding Santa with the present deliveries, you’ll be awarded with a few new holiday cosmetics! These items will go to the Lost items manager if they are lost on death.
        • This event will last until January 1st, at the same time that the Christmas Giveaway is removed. Make sure to complete it before then!
  • Miscellaneous:
    • When attempting to click the “Show XP drops” button, the bugged “Look North” button would overlap it. This will no longer happen, and both button boundaries have been fixed.
    • Fixed some Ornament kits which were equippable.
    • Beach boxing gloves are now tradable.
    • Classics will no longer receive reduced GP from money caskets.
    • 3rd Age has been removed from all Mystery boxes, but has been made slightly easier to obtain from Clue scrolls.
  • Banking fixes:
    • A bug which would randomly pull an item from the next bank tab when you are withdrawing the final item in your current tab has been fixed.

Hey guys,

We’re extremely excited to announced that Group Ironman is now live! I’d like to deeply apologize for the significant delay from the announced release time, unfortunately we were not able to meet the deadline while still ensuring that the update was ready to be pushed. I know that many of of you were prepared a few hours ago, and I thank you for your patience since then! Our priority is ensuring that there aren’t any major bugs in new updates, and we’ve taken some extra time for this one considering it is a larger update. Nonetheless, the new game mode is ready to be played, and you can hop right into it! We’ve also included some other cool updates such as the Collection log and some much needed Theatre of Blood updates that we hope you’ll appreciate!

  • Group Ironman (team) mode is now available!
    • Group Ironman is a new game mode designed for Ironman who have more than one friend that they’d like to partner up with. Here are the details:
      • Experience rate:
        • 6x base rate
          • This rate is slightly faster than Elite Ironman mode (4x) and Classic mode (5x), but not as fast as Hardcore Ironman mode (8x). We think that this is a nice fit for the game mode, as it provides a challenging experience rate, yet it isn’t the most challenging for those of you who simply want to play as part of a group and not be on the most difficult game mode (Elite).

      • Experience bonuses:
        • The same limitations of the Elite game mode apply to GIMs. Typical XP bonuses such as the Well of Goodwill will give 50% of the usual bonus (15% rather than 30%), and Vote books can only be opened once every 12 hours.
      • Group feature:
        • A requested feature not only on Alora, but on OSRS as well, the Group feature will allow you to form a group of 4 other players to join you on your adventure.
          • Your team mates are the only other players you could trade with, and are permanent. Once you reach 5 players total, no new players can be added to the team (or removed).
          • There is no time limit for when you can add players to the team, but once the team is full no changes can be made.
          • You can use the Group Ironman Orb in the house west of Edgeville to configure your team.

      • Highscores: (**The Highscores for Group Ironman will be available within 24 hours**)
      • Vote books:
        • You can only open a vote book once every 12 hours.
        • You cannot open another vote book if you still have bonus XP.
      • Bonds/donations:
        • Bonds are the only item you can transfer from your main to your GIM.
        • The same donation rules that apply to other ironmen/classics apply to GIM (mostly cosmetic only).
      • Clan chat:
        • “Group” clan chat will be auto-joined for GIM players (if not already full).
      • Gold:
        • Similar to Elites, Group Ironmen receive half the usual gold.
      • Bloody keys:
        • Although the poll results were very close, we’ve decided to block GIMs from picking up Bloody keys, at least for the first little while. We very well may allow these to be looted in the near future, though.
      • De-ironing:
        • At the moment, de-ironing is not a possibility for Group Ironmen. This is due to the fact that teams are final, and once 5 players have formed a team it is something that should be permanent.

  • Miscellaneous:
    • Spiky d’hide vambraces now all have the correct Ranged level requirements.
    • Fixed some pink pixels that would sometimes flash around the inventory area (visual bug)
    • Fixed a typo when receiving rare loot from a clue scroll (news yell)
    • Default clan chat changes:
      • Upon attempting to enter the “Alora” clan chat, if it is full you will be redirected to a “Help” channel (eg. “Help” or “Help1”).
    • Random events will no longer affect players in the Wilderness, due to them freezing the player and cancelling out combat.
    • The Antisanta outfit is now tradable. (Custom set)
    • KOTS winners from December added to the PvM Cup:
      • (1. Unknown, 2. Sololite, 3. 2 Ridiculous)
    • Mist battlestaff stand and attack animations have been fixed.
    • Mist battlestaff requirements (30 attack 30 magic) have been added.
    • Items such as the Arcane spirit shield will no longer protect over the Elysian spirit shield.
  • Woodcutting improvements:
    • The 3rd age axe can now be used to chop trees.
    • Cutting speed changes:
      • The rate at which you get logs from a tree will now be significantly based on the type of axe you use, with Dragon / 3rd age pickaxes being the fastest to chop with.
      • This won’t bring much change unless you’re using a bad axe.
        • For example, if you’ve been using a Dragon axe to cut Magic logs, you won’t see much of a difference in the rate at which you obtain logs. If you’ve been using a Bronze axe, though, you’ll definitely notice that it takes longer to successfully obtain logs.

  • Christmas removals:
    • The following have been removed from Alora:
      • Christmas event
      • Snow
      • Christmas tree + snowfall objects
      • Christmas giveaway + Haris NPC

  • Abyssal dagger poison:
    • You can now use weapon poison on the Abyssal dagger to convert it to the (p), (p+) or (p++) version.
  • Special attack energy orb:
    • An orb has been added to show you how much special attack energy you currently have.
      • This orb will be hidden along with all the others if you toggle the “Data orbs” setting.

  • Theatre of Blood loot changes:
    • Passage changes:
      • When going through a passage, usually HP and Prayer are restored (as well as any lowered combat skills).
        • We’ve also made it so that special attack energy and run energy is restored, and any poison is cured upon passing through to the next room.

    • Loot changes:
      • We’ve changed the way in which you receive rare loot in the Theatre of Blood, making it more similar to OSRS. Firstly, the rate of obtaining any rare drop from doing a raid has increased across the board by approximately 17%.
      • Aside from this, and being the most major change, we’re changing the percentage chance of obtaining each rare item once you have already hit the rare loot table. The Scythe of Vitur will become much more rare, and certain items (Avernic defender, for example) are becoming much more common.
        • With that being said, these are the approximate percentages of landing each item after this update:
          • 43.5% - Avernic defender
          • 34.8% - Justiciar piece (11.6% chance for each piece)
          • 10.1% - Sanguinesti staff
          • 7.9% - Ghrazi rapier
          • 3.7% - Scythe of Vitur
        • The visual chart below will show you these percentages more clearly. This was calculated based on OSRS rates, but the only difference is that we’ve made all of the Justiciar pieces the same % rate (11.6%) and removed 1% chance from the defender.
        • We have not changed the rate of obtaining Lil’ Zik.

  • Collection Log:
    • The Collection log has been added!
      • You can access your own collection log through the Quest tab, by clicking on the “View Collection Log” button.
      • The collection log tracks your drops from bosses, pets you’ve obtained, minigame items you’ve earned, raids loot, clue loot, slayer unlocks and more!
      • Any items that are already obtained by you and are untradable will already be counted in the Collection log, but any tradable items (Eg. Abyssal whip) will not show up from previous drops. This is necessary as we can’t be sure whether or not the items that are currently in-game were earned or purchased from other players, and the collection log is designed to only track and count loot that you have earned yourself. To make it fair for everyone, all game modes are starting at the same place (only untradables are unlocked).
        • We’ve attempted to identify combination items as well, for example the Dragon defender (g) will unlock the Dragon defender on first log on. Another example is that if you have the Vorkath slayer helmet, it will unlock Vorkath’s head drop in your collection log.

  • Welcome screen upgrade:
    • Clickable buttons:
      • The email block (top right) can now be clicked to open up your forum inbox.
      • The store/token block (bottom right) can now be clicked to open up the store on the website.
    • Hovers:
      • Both the email block, store block and the “Click here to play” buttons will now all light up when you hover your mouse over them.

  • Well of Goodwill fee increase:
    • Since Alora launched over 2 years ago, we’ve had the same cost for the Well of Goodwill, which is 25m GP per 90 minutes. Considering that the economy is quite established, and 25m is not as costly as it was on launch, we’re raising this amount to 100m GP. We’d like for the well to be more expensive so that the donations stand out and are more appreciated, and there is the added benefit of the extra gold being removed from the game will have a positive effect on the economy.
      • With this change, the announcement for big donations to the well has been increased from 2.5m to 10m.
      • To encourage players to donate items into the well more often, we’re increasing the amount of GP that items are worth to the well by 50%. This means that instead of the item being worth half of the exchange price when donating it, it will be worth 75% of the exchange price.

  • Skill tab update:
    • When hovering over a skill, the numbers will now be formatted.
      • For example
      • Firemaking XP:  100000
        • -> Firemaking XP: 1,000,000

    • When hovering over a skill, you will now be shown the amount of XP remaining until your next level.

  • Forum updates:
    • A partner request sub-forum has been added for players looking for a duo partner for Elite Ironman, or a group for Group Ironman. This is listed under the General Discussion forum.
