Posted July 10, 20196 yr comment_33559 Private servers have changed a LOT. Back when I started in the days of Project14 or whatever it was called, you could join any server on the Mopar list with the Mopar or Silab client and you'd have LOADS of people to chat to and fuck around with. Remember when "massing" was a thing? Noawadays things don't seem to be the same, sure, we've grown in terms of what we can do with servers, but people seem to congregate over just a few servers. Do RSPS' even still make money like they used to?
July 11, 20196 yr comment_33586 I think the overall number of players are steadily back on the rise along with rise in high grossing servers.
July 26, 20196 yr comment_34154 If money is a determining factor in the popularity of RSPS, there is millions of USD that go around a year in the RSPS scene. So that should answer your "do RSPS's still make money like they used too?" - I believe they make more today than ever before. In terms of popularity, yeah certainly still popular, but like Mr Matt said, maybe not as popular as once before.
August 24, 20195 yr comment_36369 The higher revisions are dying off which sucks OSRS based RSPS are popular but def not as popular as before.
August 27, 20195 yr comment_36500 I was actually thinking the same myself man, but seems every other community is dying off except this.
October 20, 20195 yr comment_39194 I think the golden age of private servers is well behind us at this point.
November 4, 20195 yr comment_39876 Most RSPS today are OSRS based and generic with the same old content. I don't think RSPS will be as popular as they once were back in the good old days but there are still some, like Ikov, going strong.
